Editorial policy

Modern Athletes Stories aims to be accurate, independent and careful with personal subjects. Our editorial standards apply to explainers, essays and contributed work alike.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable material before publication, use precise wording and explain when an idea is an interpretation rather than an established fact. We do not invent quotations, experiences or details about an athlete. Where a subject involves a real person, we take care not to present assumption as knowledge or to imply that one account represents everyone.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage to a contributor, partner or product. A partnership does not determine an article’s conclusions. We do not offer professional medical, legal or investment advice; articles are for general understanding, not individual decisions.

Corrections

If you find a factual error or a passage that needs clarification, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the relevant wording. We review correction requests, update material when warranted and make the change clear where the nature of the error calls for it. We do not silently change a material factual point.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are identified as such, and payment does not buy an editorial endorsement. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are treated as illustrations rather than documentary evidence and identified appropriately.
